New HK micro: SFP9CC

Modular like the 365, optics ready, with a standard rail…

Might need to get one.

In theory I like the idea of a micro 9 HK, but 10 rd mags are almost a dealbreaker. Oddly enough, They’ve just brought out 12 rd mags for the P30sk that are the same size as the previous 10 rounders. . And HK’s idea of concealable is questionable. This one is 1.3 in wide.

This will be a big hit with the HK folks, but won’t make a dent in P365 sales.

I was concealing a much bigger HK like 15 minutes ago.

It's only 1.3" wide at the ambi slide stop and the "slide wing." The gun itself is the standard 1" wide. It will also have the factory option for a rail and without a rail, beavertail or without one, button or the superior lever mag release. Backstraps wills will also be available with the micro model.

10 round flush fit mags are standard and is what the micro version of the P365, M&P Shield Plus, Glock 43 with (Shield Arms 9 rounder), and Glock 26. The Hellcat and Gx4 only has one extra round at 11.

I am not a fan of the P365 or how Sig moves as a company. A the only reason why the P365 is so popular is because it's modular therefore very customizable and has a lot of aftermarket support. If the price of the SFP9CC is similar, it has a good trigger (which I assume it will have), and the aftermarket support catches up to the P365, it will put a huge dent in Sigs sales IMHO. HK is certainly putting more planning into the SFP9CC to insure it doesn't suffer the same fate that the P320 and P365 suffered from out of the gate.... I've been waiting a while for this to finally be released. We've been discussing this on the HK for for over a year now.

The Sig P365 is like McDonalds. You go into that market you’re going to be fighting for the crumbs with all the others who wish they were McDonalds. I have no problem with HK. I carry a P365 and a P30SK. But the market is what it is.

Well if done right, the new HK could be the Chick-fil-A to Sigs McDonalds. All HK need do is offer simular features and price point that the P365 already has, a better experience (trigger, egros, recoil impulse, etc), and the aftermarket support near the P365. All those things combined with HK's better record of producing reliable weapons with better fit and finish, I can see the SFP9CC giving the P365 a run for it's money.

Sig only real competition is the Hellcat and the larger Shield Plus neither of which are as customizable or has the feature set as the P365. Whether the SFP9CC puts a dent in Sig's sells really all comes down to execution. Nothing is set in stone IMHO. It all remains to be seen.

Modularity has had no bearing on why I bought & carry a P365 (I'm on my second). Nor is aftermarket support. Lots of other reasons for its popularity.
The whole modularity is hype more than anything else.

Most users just won’t utilize it but marketing has planted their flag on pushing the term “modular “ out there. To the point a lot of folks buy into it.

Good luck to HK and if micro 9’s are your thing lots ic choices but not for me. I’ve become that old guy now

Looks nice, and if it follows in line like other HKs it should be a fine pistol. If it had been available before I bought the P365xl I would have have considered it just as strongly as it certainly looks to check all the right boxes. Ultimately though I did choose the XL version over the smaller P365.

IF it shoots as well, in all aspects, as the P365 it will certainly get its own strong group of admirers and takes its place in a lot of edc holsters. It might have a strong leg up with the picatinny rail over sigs proprietary one.

My issue with the 365 (I had one—SAS) is the tiny grip. Doesn’t work in my hands; the gun wants to twist in my hand on recoil (same thing happens with Glock 42’s). Sure, the XL or Macro is an option, but…that’s a bigger gun.

With the SFP, extra back straps (6 options—with and without beavertails) will be a very nice option for me…let alone a paddle release (it really IS superior, if you can put preconceptions aside)…yeah, if I get a micro, this is the one for me.

As far as capacity…I’m sure HKPARTS will have extended cap baseplates available soon.

I have absolutely no issue with different magazine releases, I actually thought the heel clip on my Makarov worked nice for me. Got darn good at it, and I liked the magazine retention aspect. Very easy to simply drop to the ground if needed but if not easy to drop into a pocket. Rather like a revolver speed loader.

The P365xl really in superior grip wise for me over the p365 just as you mention. The back straps on the HK is a real nice addition too. And I am betting before long there will be quite a variety of grip module options for even more versatility.

I'm sure it's too early but I'm headed to my LGS today to check
I didn't like the P365, purchased the Shield + instead (my edc)
Didn't like the original Hellcat, purchased the Hellcat Pro instead.
I can find an excuse for another purchase.
