New Push for Microstamping: Proponents Claim Technology Has Arrived

Again just another brain dead politicians idea of a feel good law that will do nothing.
They keep mentioning crime scene,if the weapon and ammo was stolen as in the majority of crimes the original owner would have to prove his or her innocence.

Microstamping may now be possible, but it is still completely useless for solving crimes. The overwhelming majority of criminals use stolen guns. In many of the major cities that are plagued by gang violence, the clearance rate for homicides is under 10%. Adding the need to follow-up on stolen guns will almost never lead to a suspect, and will waste valuable time. If anything, microstamping is likely to decrease the number of arrests and prosecutions for serious crimes.

Of course I'm not a politician, so I'm obviously not intelligent enough to see the value of this technology. I am merely relying on what I learned during a career in law enforcement. If I had been a bartender, instead of a cop, I would apparently be better suited to write gun laws.

the likely thing would be for them then you start suing gun owners who let their weapon get stolen.
