Purchased a new Ruger security 9 from Kentucky Gun Company sunday. Just got the shipping notification today so should be here by end of the week. Biggest reason was the price $227.00. I wanted a cheap truck gun and now I have one. Everything I have read about it seems to be good.

I’ve seen a few come through in intro classes and shot some. No big test just about 50 rounds but all the ones in all the classes ran fine so I wouldn’t feel underfunded if I had one in my truck for a trip or even a dresser drawer

Yeah but it's not stashed in the vehicle all the time. Too many vehicles broken into around here. Taken inside if left outside over night and during the day vehicle is always locked.

I'll be surprised if you find the pistol to be a disappointment regarding feel and function. Range report. . .

Well have a lot of things to do today but went to gravel pit at sunrise this morning. It was 30 degrees with a 15mph wind. Did I mention it was cold! The Ruger worked flawlessly. It wasn't HK accurate but it did really well. I fired 100 rounds of 124 freedom munitions. It might have done better if it wasn't so cold out. Did I mention it was cold and windy! For the most part it did what it was supposed to do. I surely will take it out again but will go later in the day when it's a little warmer. If you are thinking of the Security 9 I say go for it. You just can't beat the price.
