New Shooting Sport

A group of us were among the first to see the fun in this sport and organized an event in Bath, Illinois. The second year, Conservation shut us down for using shotguns. 
The next year it became the Redneck "Fishing" Tournament and has continued for years until floods stopped it last year and Covid this year. Dip nets, ball bats, and Indian war clubs now take the place of shotguns. God, that first year using shotguns was the most fun I ever had with a gun. I would love to do it again!!! 
We did try, but the Chicago crowd got in our way and we couldn't get it on the House floor for a vote:

SYNOPSIS AS INTRODUCED:
515 ILCS 5/10-80 from Ch. 56, par. 10-80
515 ILCS 5/10-145 new
Amends the Fish and Aquatic Life Code. Provides that the Department of Natural Resources shall establish an Asian carp pilot program to permit licensed individuals to shoot Asian carp with a shotgun off of a motorboat in the Illinois River beginning with the 2013 licensing year. Provides that the individuals must have the appropriate license and use a specific type of ammunition. Provides that the Department may adopt administrative rules to establish and administer the pilot program.
