New toy for Christmas

Splurged and bought the now collectible hard to find XMG, will use it with an FRT single shot lower and leave chambered in 8mm Mauser to animate back to life.

This is my third MG belt fed, along with an MG3 and MG34 that are chambered in 308. My retirement is wrapped up in belt feds instead of the stock market.

Is it a full auto or a semi? I love belt-feds as well, but I'm a sucker for muskets like the ones in the case behind the table.

It's whatever lower you put on it, an AR lower is the fire control. I will be using an FRT.

The XMG fits my Post war MG3 tripod like a glove…now I just have to wait for the 8mm Mauser ammo to arrive. Right now my FRT powered German twins are decorating the den.

Pretty cool, are the uppers original 34 and 42 parts. looks like they are. I never even heard of putting an AR15 lower on one of those.

The gun in the foreground is an MG3 modified to permit use with an FRT.
The MG34 is actually an XMG discontinued by a company called BRP, which is an upper designed around a 1944 marked MG34 to function with an AR lower.

I do have a proper full 1943 marked MG34 being built that will accept an FRT.

I've also used MG34 springs in belt fed 556 chambered ARs to give them pep.
