What the holy ....

Its warmer in Idaho than N tx today. We have rolling power outages due to grid failing from lack of prep from the Elec Companies. I think I should fly up north to idaho for some better weather !!

pool froze over long ago. 24 hrs of single digits and wind chills below freezing ...

I feel like my house is made of cardboard it's so damn cold

the usa map was the high today

-2 here. 4 degrees colder than yesterday’s high. My buddy in the oil fields in Kansas says it’s been around -9. 30% of his wells are down and the wind turbines aren’t turbining. They still had to sell the power to the greenies though so it came out of the grid. So they got rolling blackouts. Meanwhile the greenies still get to be green even though they’re getting their power from those nasty coal plants. Optics.

Back in '87 at Gunnison, Co I was at the coldest place in the nation that date @ -64. When I was outside @ 3:00am it was -39= no fun at all! Been there and done that and don't care too do again ever! -10 actual with no wind chill I can handle.

Before I met my current wife, so like 20 years ago, I was under the misconception that Texas was all nearly a desert. I've only been there once. A trip to Lufkin over a July 4th weekend and it was miserably hot and humid and the mosquitos were terrible. Like most people who didn't already know better I assumed it was like it always is in the movies. My wife used to live in Dallas and when she started telling me about brutal cold and snow storms I was surprised.

Here in STL everyone is freaking out about a couple subzero days. We haven't had cold like this in several years and it's like people forgot where we live. Growing up STL winters were brutal. Lots of snow and ice. Not northern Minnesota brutal but still. Chicago, Buffalo, STL, Detroit, Cleveland. All of these places can get ignorant in the winter.
