Night Sights

I'm 72, have a Springfield XDE 45ACP but my eyes don't see well in low light or without my glasses. Can anyone recommend night sights for the XDE?

Oddly enough I just ordered a set of Tru Glo TFX Pros for my VP9 less than 5 minutes ago. I'm going to have XDMan install them for me. When I asked him for a recommendation he said " You can't go wrong with Tru Glo TFX or Trijicon HD". So I would look at those if I were you.

I like Night Fision night sights....very bright tritium for night time and great front sight contrast ring for daytime.

I have TFX on my XD-s. Meh...not as bright as I'd hoped. I have Trijicon HDs supposedly on the way for my Hellcat - I'll keep the front sight on the 'cat, it's SUPER bright, but I want something that glows for the rear sight as well. I like the U-shaped rear...in daylight. I wish SA had done a 'composite' sight of sorts, and either made the U out of glow paint, or put a pair of tritium dots on either side of the U for low-light use.

I say "supposedly" because I ordered them 2 weeks ago. Got the tracking number (USPS). Went from Delaware...to Oklahoma (!), then came back to Maryland...where the tracking simply died on the 21st. *Today* I get a text that they may be delivered.

I could have WALKED to Delaware by now, to pick them up!

I’ve used Nightfision and Truglo TFX Pro. Both are excellent. The TFX have an exposed fiber optic filled with tritrium so the daytime pickup is awesome as well. My Nightfisions are great but TFX wins for the extra daytime visibility.

I have Trijicon HD XR night sights on both my XDM .45, and my EDC XDS .45. No complaints with them, and actually loved their customer service, when they had to replace a broken front sight on one, due to the gunsmith not correctly installing it the first time. It was clearly the gunsmiths fault, but Trijicon replaced it, free of charge. Of course I went to a different gunsmith for that install!

My Trijicons ACTUALLY ARRIVED today! 10 days in USPS limbo...jeez.

Haven't mounted them yet, but me likey. The dots are just as bright as the factory front sight on my Hellcat. Front heights look the same, so I'm going to start by just installing the rear, and see how that does for point of impact...

I have the same problem with those old eyes and factory sights. Might try to google Mepro Bullseye sight. The sight is both fiber optic and trijicon. It replaces the rear sight. Comes in red or green and was developed in Israel. A circle in the sight lights up when the sight is aligned. Place the circle on target and press off the shot. I put one on my Glock 30 .45 ACP and seems to work well. Just my two cents. :)

Mounted my Trijicon rear sight today and sent a mag's worth of rounds at the steel. One small adjustment to the windage, but elevation works great with the factory front sight. Very happy. And, in the basement (darkness), I can pick up all three dots very easily now! SA, you need to do something with the (admittedly nice, in daylight) rear U-sight on the Hellcat, to make it darkness-viable!
