Ohio Ordnance Works has entered the .338 Norma Mag machine guns game.

REAPR Features: Lightweight, highly portable battlefield suppression system chambered in .338 Norma Magnum with a 7.62 NATO conversion kit, simple and robust receiver, toolless field stripping, and one-handed barrel changes. A system that breakdowns into three major components in under ten seconds, small enough to fit into an operator’s backpack!

effective range of over 4 miles seems a bit far fetched! I'm also wondering how you get 5 lands with 6 grooves unless it's not a circle?

I can the US military operating both the OOW REAPR and the Sig MG 338.

Since the REAPR can be easily disassembled for carry in a backpack, and easily reassembled, it would be useful for Airborne, SEALs, Marine Force Recon and other SOCOM ops. Whereas, the MG 388 would be the standard ground-pounder GPMG, and for vehicle mounting.
