i cannot find my other thread about this.
it had to do with "oil evaporating"????
i was using Weapon Shield synthetic.....(at that time of that thread being posted)
ok, so since then, i have been using FP 10 Lubricant Elite...
i took my G-17 to the range back in November of '22.
shot 150 rounds, part reloads, part factory new.
gun ran flawlessly.
took it home, cleaned with Hoppes 9, and lubed with FP-10
taking it to the range in a few minutes.
just for "Schlitz and giggles", i take it apart.....
"where's the oil"....??
rails....dry
slide....dry....
like WTF...?????
now, in comparison....
i took my Kimber 1911 last week....
last time to the range was also November '22
FP 10 was used to lube it.....Hoppes 9 to clean it
slides, rails were "still wet"......when i took it last week........
WTF...???
differences in the metals, where "maybe" the Glocks are more (dare i say) porous than any of the 1911's that i have..????
but then, back last year, when i strictly used the Weapon Shield, ALL guns were "dry" and i had to relube them, before a range trip....????
what da hell is going on...????
i am beside myself on this.......i ain't never experienced anything like this.
oil stays where oil is put.......
and to be further clear....ALL my guns are stored in upright, as in a "shooting position", not laying flat, for the oil to migrate out, otherwise, i'd "feel" the oil in the storage case(s) each gun is kept in.
i don't buy it from here, but this is what i have been using.
thanks in advance
