Old School Hat Collection

USMC1911

Master Class
I enjoy wearing a hat all year round. I particularly enjoy wearing a Fedora. It’s hard to find a good hat store anymore. I have collected as many hats as I have firearms. Are there any other Hat lovers in here? Let’s see them hats.

Fedoras look good on you.

I don't wear hats unless I'm hunting. Then it's either a Boonie or a Filson. Sock hats at work if it's cold.

My grandfather wore hats very similar to those in your 3rd and 5th pictures. When he passed (1972) my Grandma gave them all to a friend of his. How I wish I had one or two of them now!

I have a bunch of ball caps but these are the ones that I wear most often.

I have no idea how long I've had this hat. Six or seven years at least. I wore it when I was working as a security guard, now I wear it at the gym. So it's probably that I wear most often.

It's by Rothco. I don't know what other hats Rothco makes but they make real nice baseball hats. The only problem is the materials kind of thick so they're hot in the summer

It’s funny topic for me. I have two many 3 or 4 hats/caps that I’ve save over 35-40 yrs that are still on the shelf.
I’m not generally hat wearer, but like to keep one in the toolbox for outdoor work either to shade the eyes, to avoid sunburn or keep whatever out of my hair, also have one in the pickup. All depends on where or what’s going on.

I never did care for the restriction that comes with a ill fit hatband, this goes back to my early years having to wear a “Ralphie” style Fudd flap hat on cold winter days, walking uphill to school in a snowstorm.

Once worked for a company boss that that came up with a new service uniform with a ball cap to top off the look. This look wasn’t for me, imagine having a depressed coiffure at the end of the day. The horror. It’s unspeakable.
So one day, boss said, hey, where’s your hat? I said I didn’t care for that goofy hat rule. He said as long as I’m here, you will wear that goofy hat. Next day I came to work wearing my goofy hat…

Davy Crocket was a my sons who still is a daily hat wearer, he wanted the Goofy and raccoon tail hat when we went Disney back in the 80’s.

I like fedora's and would love to buy some. I'm just not an internet buying kind of guy for hats. I like to see and feel before purchasing.

I think today I’d sport a sturdy felt fedora for an occasion, maybe a pork pie for a casual, rough look. So its always been a issue for me getting something to cover my head as I said, I’m not a fan of headgear, but for the moment and gave some thoughts to what I might consider is, a Panama for the Everglades, Stetson for the Outback, a Booney is classic too, that’s IF I’d wear one and how each fits my noggin.

True…A good old fashioned hat shop is hard to find.

Very nice hat collection, while I did wear ball caps, after we sold our house and moved 2 years ago, I got rid of them, not enough space where we live now.

What about "Bear" Bryant? Must not be an Alabama fan      :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: .
Nope, nothing to do with Alabama, Fred Bear, one of the Godfathers of modern archery. Founder of Bear Archery which was originally based in Grayling Michigan. He hunted everything imaginable with recurve bows including elephant's and cape Buffalo. They often had specials on Wide World of Sports of his hunts. I have a Bear Grizzly recurve I picked off the production floor and he signed before it was glassed. I must have been about 14 or so.
