Old school S&W .45’s

Before the M&P or their 1911’s, S&W made some damn nice all-steel .45’s...

Good guns in there day, I preferred the 645 myself, had 2 4506’s, both ejected cases at your forehead.....lol, but both series shot good.
I’ve got a hybrid 645/4506; it’s marked 645 on the frame, but has a 4506 slide; serial # is in the correct range for it to possibly be a “change gun”—that is, the pistols that were made as they transitioned from one model to the next—but, it doesn’t have the box, etc, to confirm this...it could quite easily be a 645 that was sent back for repair and got a new slide.

Still is a heck of a shooter. Never had issues of it hitting my forehead with brass.

Nice! They had me at "Crockett's main gun for two seasons"! Oh how I loved Miami Vice back in the late 80's! Wound up re-watching during the quarantine and it unfortunately doesn't seem to hold up for me now.
Sweet looking piece though! Thanks for sharing some old school beauts!
