NASCAR legend Cale Yarborough has died. He was 84.

Yarborough is one of the most successful NASCAR drivers ever with 83 Cup Series wins and three championships. Yarborough won those championships in three straight seasons from 1976-78 as he amassed 28 wins and 70 top-five finishes over 90 races in that span.

i used to watch it when i knew it as "stock car racing", with Cale, AJ Foyt, Richard Petty, and so many others who i have forgotten thier names.

i used to watch even the Indy 500, up until a racer, Swede Savage was in a horrible crash, that happened on live on tv....

he later died, i stopped watching racing....i never forgot about Swede.

same with boxing.....Boom-Boom Ray Mancini and a Korean kid, were fighting, the kid got knocked down so many times..the last time he never got back up.....he died....i stopped watching boxing.

all sports people know the risks, we as fans don't wanna think about the risks......

The "Korean kid's" name was Du Ku Kim. They made hypocrite judgements after the fact, but the name of the game is be hit and hit back.

This is the only "sports thing" I know. And the only reason I know it is because the prophet Warren Zevon wrote a song about it.

thanks, i could have looked up the kids name, i just didn't.....i saw that fight, live.

it was a great fight, that kid kept getting up, time and time again. i am not certain, but i think Boom-Boom told him to stay down....????

if i recall the last time he went down, was the time and the fight finally got called for Boom-Boom...

seeing someone removed from the ring on a stretcher wasn't good.

after that fight, it wasn't worth it to me to watch anymore matches, especially live on any network, or "pay-per-view"

boxing can be a great sport, and i will not ever deny anyone's right to be involved with it, either as a viewer or fighter.
