Online ammo purchases

Posting just FYI - for those that buy ammo online.

i buy from berrys for bullets
and built up from bulk ammo,
i have noticed in last few months its not just fake protract supply and some other sporting companies spam mail
they use the real places front page with URL clinkable links
but the EMAIL address is wrong
i always look at the email FROM address before i click any page

None of my go-to online sellers don't have much of a social media presence.

And the ones I do use, I've ordered from for years.

Been doing business with the same companies for years. Mostly price hunt through Ammoseek.com who I do trust.
Never do business with unknowns.

i dont use face book or insta mug or x or tickey tock
i do have an x and fb account but they are dusty dusty
so lost friends can find me easier...
i would never order anything off those platforms... that just screams potential fraud

I've seen CCI and Remington Ammo ads from fake sites on FB.
Both looked much like the actual valid sites.

I have used exactly one ammo supplier on line and used to go to their storefront years ago so I know they are legit. Their shipping times are also good. Like others I have never used Fakebook or any other social media. As an aside, I have had a paid email service which was supposed to be very secure, but in the last few years spam messages have increased five fold. Same with text messages and calls to my mobile number. It's become ridiculous.

I've seem fake cci sites (and fed and a few others) that look legit until you see the prices. Go to checkout and only take zeel or some sort of other fake coin. Same thing with powders. Criminals never rest and the dead always finds a way to vote!

I had a guy I know call me up, said he found 9mm 50 rnd box for 5.00 a box, with a minimum order of 125.00 free shipping. I told him it's a scam. He wouldn't listen ordered over 200.00 worth. He used his debit card, and pay-pal. His bank account is all messed up

Readily admitting ignorance, as I have zero experience with social media, why would a seasoned devotee of our hobby/sport even show interest in such obvious online snares? Prices?

i too have regular powder, bullets and brass casings online retailers. then of course my LGS.

i too never click onto a Facebook link to order anything, but i have seen Berry's Bullets facebook ads.

cuz during certain times....(like a pandemic and shortages) "if it looks to good to be true, they gotta still try it"

best to skip ads on social media and go directly to the source
