I don't know about you but I have never paid MSRP or even close to MSRP.
True, usually 15% off at least.

Some of the smaller shops around here that somehow have in-hand inventory kind of call the shots so to speak, so sometimes they're asking for over MSRP. Only one I paid MSRP for was the Prodigy, but I was not shopping around, I saw it and wanted it, no questions asked. I could have had it for a good 10% cheaper online, but that would have meant not walking away with it on day one, hell no!

I am glad that there is another 10mm pistol on the market.

If it runs well, I'm kind of interested (the X-Ten full size had numerous reported feeding issues). But I'll wait until it's had some time in the real world. My M&P 2.0 4.6" has been great and would be hard to knock out of first place for me.

The P220 is awesome (I used to own one), but I consider it strictly a range toy. It's even heavier than a Government 1911 and a tank to lug around in the mountains.

All of my experience with 10mm has been with barrels of at least 4.5" - I'd be very curious to see some ballistics comparisons of 10mm out of a 3.8" barrel compared to a 4.5" - 5" barrel, and what that does to the round's performance. I also wonder, does the compensator on the X-Ten, by partially redirecting the gas, further reduce velocity? Does the loss basically equate to the equivalent of simply shooting .40? I really don't know the answer on that, just wondering out loud.

Looking at the 10mm chart on Ballistics by the Inch and comparing various loads between a 5" barrel and a 4" it doesn't seem to be too much of a velocity loss, but I'd still be curious to see more testing on this, especially with the comped version of the X-Ten and with some more modern, full-power loads like Underwood, Buffalo Bore, Double Tap, etc.

If it turns out there really isn't much difference at all and you are still essentially getting "full power" 10mm out of the 3.8" barrel with a comp, then the more compact X-Ten certainly has my interest, as a backcountry carry option in particular.
