Paul Brentar, Protective Edge Training, anyone?

BassCliff

Professional
Hi all,

It's been suggested to me that I get some training from other than "local" instructors. Around the middle of April we'll have a visiting "professional" named Paul Brentar to give his "Pistol Performance" class, eight hours of instruction over two days.

Synopsis:
----------
This 8 hour course starts with an audit of the student’s basic skill sets (draw, accuracy, reloads, etc). The rest of the course focuses on proper draw/grip, micro drills for faster improvement, recoil management, one-handed manipulations (injured shooter), mindset, and NEW this year, cognitive processes to achieve better results which includes vision drills with shoot/don't shoot training.
----------

Paul Brentar, now based in Lansing, Michigan, is a former Police Chief, 20+ years as LEO, certified firearms instructor in several disciplines, police academy instructor, armorer, etc. Here is his Protective Edge Training website: https://protectiveedgetraining.com/

I'm just curious if any of you have heard of Mr. Brentar, perhaps taken a class from him, or otherwise are familiar enough to let me know if it will be worth the $300 they are charging for 8 hours of instruction.

I suppose it couldn't hurt. ;) I'd appreciate your thoughts.

Thank you for your indulgence,

If it's what you want to do then give it a shot, no pun intended. 😁 but he clearly does the same thing i do, he is poking holes in the target to make it look like he shot it with that pen, but i'm puzzled. why he making them so far apart. i always poke mine real close so ya'll think i am bad to the bone.

From his lists of things the Conolete Combatant is Brian Hill’s training company. Mr Hill is one reputable Instructor and if he has that says a lot.

Modern Samurai Project (as city Jedlinski) isn’t anything to sneeze at either.

So I’d say you’ll get some good stuff depending on how he presents his format.
