So, a comment on the bit about giving first aid.
I’m a trained & certified first responder (basically, the lowest level of EMT) on a team where I work (industrial facility, we get plenty of accidents)...and the first thing you are taught when responding to an event, before you do anything else...
Is the scene safe? If it's not...you do NOT proceed.
If I’ve just gone through a fight for my life...it’s gonna be pretty hard to verify the scene is safe (for a number of reasons). Starting treatment is, by my training, not the correct course of action.
You can also get into things like if you don’t have the correct equipment (PPE—gloves, glasses, or more, depending) you should not put yourself at risk of numerous pathogens transmitted through bodily fluids...so going hands-on is right out for other reasons as well.
In other words...it would have to be perfect circumstances to actually render first aid in that situation, in light of how I have been trained.
YMMV.
