Personal Security.

I can see where this might just go a long way. To many people, calling 911 when an incident happens is calling too late. There's an old saying that 'when seconds count, the police are only minutes away'.

Now that's not intended as a slap on LEO's, most are really good people. But they can be in only so many places at any one time and there's only so many of them. I give them a lot of credit to get done what they do with the adversity they face.

Just based on my LEO experience in Texas, cops never seem to have any problems with bodyguards or other professional personal security. The cops I've known even get along well with the majority of uniformed private security guys. The only privatized security that I ever personally knew LEO's in my area to dislike was Bail Agents (i.e. Bounty Hunters), and this was mainly due to them constantly misidentifying themselves as cops or federal agents while committing horribly unprofessional acts. I think the cops would actually appreciate this type of on-demand service, so long as employees conduct themselves in a professional manner.

Yeh, that's going to be the deciding factor. If this company uses real, professional, personal protection personnel, rather than a bunch of wild-assed cowboys, it will probably make it considering today's culture and atmosphere.

It's the same with private, site security people. Most are really good at what they do, but unfortunately there's always that one who can be a genuine butt-hole who creates a negative perutation for all of them.. Let's hope this organization can maintain employees with class.

I always thought that businesses like those were popular for some but seeing a commercial on TV was a first, like mentioned above most likely very popular for those that can’t or don’t want to bother arming themselves.

Sounds like a great idea, that will/can do well in large metropolitan areas. Maybe even in some not-so-populated places.

A plus for this is perhaps it's the only "escort service" where the client won't be arrested for solicitation. :)
