My biggest pet peeve is why pistol manufacturers only include 1 mag with there gun, now I can see an entry level pistol like the Springfields Defender series, but I am referring to higher end pistols, Colt, Kimber and such, even on there high end pistols, 1 damn magazine. S&W, Sig, even Glock comes with 2 mags, 3 with the Gen5 Glocks, I know you can go buy more, but the way my luck has been, I buy the gun, 1 mag, go over to there magazine section and bam….no mags, most will think this is trivial, but if you spend a good chunk of change, it needs to come with at least a extra magazine, ok, rant over, done whining.

I like to have at least 6 factory magazines per pistol on hand, two in the box always seemed to be the minimum with pistols. If they’re charging $30 for a factory mag, that adds up in sales not only for the LGS but tax revenue. Could this one-mag offering be part of a bigger conspiracy…in IL it may very well be a secret deal with JBs revenue dept.

Heck, my Saint Victor came with NONE though advertised coming with 1x30.
Dealer wouldn’t ship a PMag to IL (FFL) and no low cap alternative was offered.

It's not just the magazine, it's the shipping cost, too.

I don’t think I ever paid shipping on a gun purchase. They ship them to my FFL free.

Shipping on magazines is like shipping on ammo. You have to buy in bulk or the shipping costs more than the item you’re buying.

i had a pet peeve, but it died a few years ago...good peeve it was too.

but on a more serious note, YES, for the prices we pay for a gun, there should be at least 2 mags. in fact, when i bought my 2 D/W's, each DID have 2 mags, which was great.

here too, with the mag ban down to 10 rds, it too can be difficult to find your particular magazine, with the exception of course of the 1911 mags, they over flow the pegboard display

all my soft sided pistol pouches have capacity for 4 mags, and i like taking 4 mags with every gun.

i get those pistol pouches at Walmart, it's made by Allen, and goes for like $10.00

better then taking the clamshell and fits neatly in my range bag.

i can never find any pics of the ones i buy

I make it a habit to keep and have at least 5 mags per handgun and at least 10 mags per rifle and that's a peeve of mine too them only shipping with one.

All of this is why I shop before I buy! The same thing happened when the 2.0 10mm pre-release caught me. I figured that mags would be available until the gun was released...................................................well it was a long time before any were to be found! Mag Warehouse was a joke on getting them, so no hope from them! I magically found some at a town 65 miles from me and bought some. I informed @BET7 where to buy some also. I did my homework on decision help on a new 26cal AR10 build and only could find everything needed for a 6.5prc build. Other options were wsm, saum and rm, but either couldn't find either dies, brass, ammo or a few other key components. Mags for them nor mag followers have been designed for short mag cartridges in the AR10's. Most use the 308win follower. I would've rather had the rm, but didn't want a belted mag fed in an AR.

That's another peeve I have also. I keep a minimum of 200 rounds per firearm ready to go even if it's the same cartridge with multiple firearms in the same chamber (10 308win's will have 2,000 rounds ready).

Agree i have to have at a min, 10 mags for each type weapon. By the time you achieve that its almost another weapon in cost, out put. If i see mags i need on sale, i jump on them.

WalMart is anti gun. It’s difficult to keep my wife from shopping there, but no way in hell I buy any gun related stuff from them.

Minimum acceptable mag compliment is 5. I am uncomfortable with less than 10. For ARs, 250 is a nice round number.

I get what you're saying....I have had the same thing happen recently. My new Ronin 10mm came just like that and as you said I went looking for another mag or two but none to be had in the Springfield store. In the end I went to Ed Brown and bought "2" of his. I haven't tried them out yet other than inserting which was a tighter fit than the factory mag.
I guess I will see how they work once I get a chance to run them a few times.
