Picked this up last week

Picked this up last week, XD Service Model in .45acp. Got the case, gear, one 10 round mag, three 13 round mags, plus a 100 rounds of ammo. Hardly shot, spent case has a 2013 date on it, shoots great, got it off an old co-worker.

Shoots great, first gun I’ve picked up that I never saw or shot before, that I hit everything I was aiming at, even with these old eyes.

This model is discontinued, but SA told me they still stock parts for it.

I ordered an extra recoil assembly for it just to have, I guess the mod 2’s parts are the same except for certain ones

I had an issue with my XD Mod 2 recoil assembly when I first bought it, 50 rounds and the flat that rests on the barrel got gouged up. Took a couple tries with SA to get the right replacement but fine ever since, I never thought about getting backup assemblies, going to look into that.

Took the XD back out today, 200 rounds with no issues, used mostly Winchester White Box 230gr fmc. Really like how it shoots, can’t get over how smooth the trigger is on this pistol. All well, now comes the fun part, cleaning time.......
