I like plastic toothpicks for corners and tight spots. I also use a magnetic dish for putting screws and bits in while cleaning guns. You can get one at Harbor Freight for $2.99 (sometimes free w/purchase). I also use straight and angled tweezers, usually for grabbing a patch and swabbing areas.

when i go to KFC, many times, i save the plastic containers that the smashed potato's comes in. (i must have like a dozen of them now). i have at times, also kept a few of those styrofoam sandwich boxes as well...but mostly, those are larger black ones i get from "take out" meals at a sandwich shop.

i think that for the cheapness of it, and thier longevity, i get quite a few months worth out of them.

i already spent money for those items, saves me from going to walmart to buy them.

i just make sure that before i turn them into my "gun room", they get cleaned out and dried very well.

Good tips the author shared.
I like to put up a corrugated cardboard backer on three sides when brushing or spraying to contain any splatter.
Those HF $2 magnetic parts trays are great, I have them in the tool box, on ladders, in the car trunk…in a pinch, tape one or screw one to a broom handle to pick up lost screws/parts or nails from the floor or lawn.

Rare earth neodymium magnets taped to the bottom of those plastic food containers works well too.

Something to think of is that it's not good practice to use anything magnetic on firearms as it can magnetize the parts, leading to metal particles building up in places they shouldn't be which could result in a higher chance of malfunction.

Steel wool is about the worse and easiest to get attracted magnetized anything. Though Neodymium doesn’t magnetize other metals like regular ceramic magnets.
