I have the mod 1 .45 and love it. I carry it with a 6 round mag and have at least one 7 round mag as a backup.
 
I own an XDS Mod.2 in .45 acp. I love everything about it, except the capacity. It shoots significantly softer than you would expect for a gun its size firing a 230 gr bullet, and it is less punishing on the range than many larger-framed .45's. I love all the XDS Mod.2 models. I wish Springfield would offer a 7-round mag for the Mod.2 like they did for the original.
 
This is just me but. Not sure what pocket except maybe a pants cargo pocket I would stick this in, maybe a heavy winter coat, certainly not my normal winter leather jacket with sleeveless hoodie inside. It's not exactly small. In looking at them overlayed in handgun hero with the xds slightly faded out it dwarfs the P365xl. it is about the same size length, width and height wise but much bulkier in other dimensions. Personally I do not consider my P365xl to be near a pocket pistol size.

Compared in the same manner to a Smith Jframe the XDS is positively huge. I consider, personally, the Jframe to be about as large a firearm as I can stick in a pocket, and actually get it out in a timely fashion.

It's a nice small pistol I would carry iwb/owb or in an ankle rig maybe but no way in a pocket.
