Ha ahhahahaha!
All the comments on losing the; what I call, feel of the gun and the eye for the target
!
You never loose it really! Even after years of not exercising it!
Seriously,
My plinking career started in earnest when I was 14, with an old Ruger standard auto 9shot!
But sure, as a kid growing up in Arkansas, I had shot a few different shotguns and rifles as soon as 9 years old!
Got my first deer with a Krag 30-40 at 10!
Grandparents had 100 acre farm in southeast Ark, and there was a deer
camp every 10 miles in the surrounding county!
But back to losing the eye 👁!
At 14 my parents moved out of state for better jobs, and left me with the Grands to finish my school year! The Ruger was a swap arranged to calm me from the loss of my horse, in the move!
In 1966, you could buy a brick of 22Lr for less than 5 bucks!
Well Sirs, let me tell ya, I cut grass for a buck a yard and almost bought Howard’s out of stock in 22lr that year!
Wonderfully also that year I had only one Trainer for pistol instruction! My Mothers brother, who at the time was an MP on Okinawa!, and a small arms instructor for his unit!
He was on leave and showed me a thing or two about pistol craft!
He taught me two things, 1. don’t point till ready to shoot, and 2. Point and snap shoot!
Let your eye and the point do the thinking, not your brain worrying about the sight alignment!
Yep! burned much ammo till I got the Eye 👁 for it, but then and now, I don’t need two hands, and don’t aim at anything less than 25 feet and don’t miss my targets!
If ya want to snipe, use a good rifle!
If ya want to win a gunfight! Learn to snapshoot your pistol!
And just shoot one pistol and one ammo!
In each caliber you like! So that the eye 👁 will stay fresh and you won’t need to think!
Hope this wasn’t too long! Or Boring!
If you have doubts, try the eye!
Be prepared for misses! And $ for the ammo!
In the end your accuracy will astound you, and a few friends!
Good luck
and don’t sweat it, it’s all small stuff!
72 and counting!
