practice practice and more practice

I never took a class in my life, don't know why. they are probably fun. I just like shooting on my own or with maybe a couple others. A whole room full of strangers with guns ain't for me. i see all those holes in the ceilings and walls at those indoor ranges. some idiot had to put them there.
it's scary that i too see bullet holes at the start of the range table, in the ceiling, where the target carrier is waiting for us to put on a target..

damn, like they gotta start shooting up the ceiling THAT CLOSE to where they stand..???

something to be said for having the club all to oneself at 6AM in the morning.

No. That said, class is not for everyone at any rate.

And I can afford classes, just not as many as some people. At the same time some of those people shave with disposable Bic razors. So which one of us has class ? :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO:
Bic razors are disposable..??

sheesh, i am still using my Schick triple razor from 1999.......

oh, it cuts up my face, but i thought that was from the ingrown double beard stubs sticking out.

maybe i ought to try a fresh one..???

and maybe stop using Tide laundry detergent to shave with, and go back to shave soap in the cup..??

geez, the internet is so informative ........

the public range has a variety of classes, but since i no longer am a member there, the prices are nearly double.

and on SS, that is something i cannot afford.

my club, the members there don't seem to interested in having any classes, although at each quarterly meeting the board brings it up, asks us, but very few hands go up to vote it.

I know, but you know how precious he gets. 🤪😜😇

I was looking at kimbers and found the Ronin at a good price first,,,,,,, as for the M&P I am using it because it is what I have and it weighs about 17 ounces loaded,,,,, it is my current summer carry, it hides well under a T-shirt
That's funny about the Kimber and Ronin.
I understand about the M&P. I have only ever had one, the Shield, and I liked it enough. I have looked at the 22 a number of times but never got one.
I actually bought the 1911 22 because I sold my Ruger SR22 to someone who really wanted it. And I am a big 1911 fa so it was a no brainer.

I also am a big 1911 fan, I bought the first one about 40 years ago, they come and they go some were good some were not,,,,,,, it's like everything else you buy used, it's a crap shoot sometimes you buy someone elses problem,,,,,,,, this Ronin when it comes to reloads no more than 4 rounds until it jams,,, but with new ammo it is flawless

regarding the reloads, i wonder if it's the OAL that might be causing this?...(as well as the crimp??)

i have a CZ 97 B, and of course, that is not a 1911, but it does shoot 45 ACP.

if i follow the OAL measurements by the book(s), that gun will not shoot them.

if i set the bullet close to factory measurements, they shoot great.

as such i did have a few issues with the reloads jamming in a couple of my 1911's a time or two.

once i set that bullet depth to near factory OAL, those 1911's shoot reloads great too.

i even noticed this "jamming" issue with reloaded 9mm's in my CZ 75 B, just would not shoot them, jammed every time.

and that was store bought reloads..same issue with my reloads, when i set them to specs by the books.

no more issues with reloads in my 9mm CZ's.

I've been shooting pretty much all my life. I grew up around a bunch of farmers who considered guns as just another everyday tool and everyone should know how to use them.
The only formal instruction I ever got was from Uncle Sam and the required state course for my HCP.
However, I did shoot IDPA pretty regularly for about 12 years. I never really was a serious competitor. Mostly I shot because I enjoyed it and it was great practice for those of us who carry every day. Learning to draw, shoot and move while having fun doing it. ;) Unfortunately age and poor health have put an end to that. I just can't run and gun anymore. :( But I still use the clubs Action Range from time to time to keep up my skills.

I'm a firm believer in what I call understudy guns. Guns just like what one would normally carry, but in .22 caliber. I have .22 versions of the S&W K-frame (Model 18), two 1911s and a Walther PPK/S .22. I also have .22 conversion units for my Sig P226, Browning Hi-Power and AR-15. I shoot these quite often. The S&W Model 18 goes along on almost every range trip and I shoot it almost exclusively in DA mode. I give it full credit for teaching me how to properly shoot a DA revolver. 😁
Not long ago I picked up a Walther/Colt 1911 .22 and its becoming a regular range gun as well.
These guns give cheap, fun practice while building fundamentals and skills for their bigger centerfire brothers. (y)

I don't reload, these are factory reloads so as to why they won't cycle in the Ronin,I will never know,, I just buy factory new and the heck with it

I bought a new Springfield Ronin in 9mm and took it out and tried it out,,,,,,,,,,, now 10 or so years ago I could shoot the lights out but I had a long layoff from shooting,,, I was having trouble hitting a steel 8 inch plate at 10 yards,, that is pretty bad and Ammo is still a little high,,,,,,, so I am doing my prcticing with a M&P Compact 22lr about 400rds thru the M&P and I am doing a good bit better I can put them all on the 8inch plate again with the Ronin,,,, I will keep after it I have a chit load of 22LR,, I won't be happy until I can put them all on that plate at 25 yards
So, late to the party, but…

Get a .22 conversion slide.
