Prepping the Trigger

 It's called dry firing your firearms, and most people don't do it enough.

Staging or prepping the trigger — taking up the slack on a modern striker-fired pistol.

Prepping the Trigger
Figured that one out with my first striker. It mostly only applies to the range. I do it with my Q, but with my carry guns I don’t. Simply because I know it isn’t going to happen in a SD situation so I dry fire and live fire those with one continuous trigger press.

Dry firing has been a drill that has been around as a training technique for awhile. Shooting for groups or for precision is completely different than a defensive situation. Your groups will show you that. Can you train yourself to take the slack up? The ultimate goal is to be precise. A target at 10 yards in say 3 seconds with 5 rounds compared to 5 rounds slow fire will be night and day. Not just dry fire but familiarization with your firearm as well.
