Prices for New Marlins?

I've wanted a Marlin Guide Gun in 45-70 for awhile, and should've bought one awhile back. The only place I'm currently finding them online is asking $1200 and I'm not willing to go that high. I've been collecting guns for about a decade, but have never been in the market for something from a company that had just assumed new ownership. I've always known Ruger to be a reasonably affordable brand, but don't have enough industry experience to predict prices for the new Ruger-Marlins. Do those of you who have followed the industry longer than I have think Ruger is more likely to lower the MSRP of new Marlins, raise the price of new Marlins, or keep prices consistent with the prices at the time of the Remington bankruptcy?

Got my TX-22 recently, & some other stuff in the past from Reeds and they're always GTG.

Big outfit in MN.

Tell her I saved you alot of $$.

Can't beat that price, shipping cost & no cc fee.

Better grab one.

Remember to stick it way back in the closet and when she finds it someday tell her it's been there a long time.

Hard to find a good deal nowadays.

There's two on GB right now. $1,100 to $1,200.

Is the big loop lever worth the extra $300-$400+? The one at Reeds has a 18.5" barrel.

You can get an aftermarket big loop lever & get a gunsmith to swap them out.

The one for $1,099.99 plus 4.5% CC fee & shipping cost will be done in 21 hrs and ~10 min from now.

I would if that were the only difference, but the 70456 also comes with the 6-shot magazine tube, beefier stock, and different front sight. This is one of my bucket list guns, so I figure I'd go for the one I always wanted. This one would be as much for display as it would for actual use. If I have to suddenly move to bear country, I'll probably be much more open to any 45-70 I can get.

The one you want has a pistol grip stock vs straight on thr $800 one, but the stock contours are the same.

I have the now-discontinued GSBL.

I'm just hoping Ruger can put the 70456 out at the $699-$749 they were selling for as late as May. I would put my cap at about $850 total shipped. If Ruger can get close to that, I'll be happy to place a pre-order.

There's MSRP....and there's market price.

These days, for firearms and ammo....all bets are off as far as asking prices go. If you find one you want...get it, or the guy in line behind you probably will, once you move on.

I didn't really want a Hellcat in FDE...nor the added cost of it for FDE...but when I walked in to my LGS and they had a sum total of 25 handguns in stock, and one was the FDE Hellcat...I bought it. Now, after breaking it in and making a holster in which to carry it (heating up Kydex will STINK up your kitchen, WOW!!)...and seeing all the signs of things getting worse before they get any better...I'm damned glad I got it.
