So I have been looking into issues I have been experiencing and found people are getting close but not finding answers.
Let me explain I purchased the ds with dragonfly and obviously got the LCI spray on the optic. However with about 1k + rounds through the pistol I’m having to clean the emitter often. I have seen posts talking about this issue but not to this detail.
I have found that either A - gasses /oil get into the emitter or B its flecks of dust / locktite that dematerialize on shooting for more than 30 rounds.
All of this is due for the cheaply designed underside of the optic itself somehow the “ip rated” plate doesn’t have the ability to keep the exposed underside from these contaminants on the emitter.
Whatever it is it creates these little spots that look like phantom particles that don’t go away when wiping down the optic. And after lets say60 rounds the optic is basically useless due to the amount of particulates due to them being in The emitter chamber.
What I have found is getting a hooked thin pokey tool. I use my wife’s facial care tools, and a clean microfiber cloth dipped in 90% rubbing alcohol and moving around carefully in the compartment does the trick. But is super tedious and … tbh shouldn’t be anything I have to do on a 1500 $ gun.
Springfield should either complete the optic and cover the compartment completely or create a plate that will just seal the emitter, this is about a 30 min process each time I shoot which sucks and neeedds to be remedied.
As well just make some new barrels that are sealed and or change the LCI process for certain guns.
Other than that happy super accurate and great gun.
