Prodigy firing pin stop question

Grass

Alpha
Maybe someone here can point me in the right direction.
While cleaning my Prodigy yesterday I noticed my f.p.s. has a crack. Could have possibly been there since new. I’m sure Springfield will replace it no questions asked. But what if I want an aftermarket machine one. It appears the ones EGW sells has square bottoms and not chamfered like the factory one.
And their Prodigy specific parts does not list this item.

It looks like a crack but it may not be. SA uses MIM parts in their 1911/2011 pistols. That could be a casting flaw since many SA owners have reported a 'crack' in that same place. SA should replace it, but waiting is frustrating.

You might check with Wilson or Harrison for replacement steel or stainless steel. Be aware that some "fitting" might be required with better quality replacement parts from the aftermarket.

That is a known issue with the 1911 pistol, especially if it not tool steel, Springfield will replace it, but it’s better to call, there email is not up to par, or you could a aftermarket one from several sources, as mentioned it looks more like a dent or casting flaw

Thanks for all the replies. I haven’t contacted anyone regarding this yet as I just noticed it after a range trip yesterday.
I do not mind the idea of having to fit a part if needed. I will make some calls tomorrow. It’s probably a non issue but now that I see it, I can’t unsee it lol.

I don't think it is a crack, just a mold artifact. That said; If it is a standard 1911 FP Stop the Wilson BP stop will work with little or no fitting.

My Ronin's stop was sloppy enough that it allowed a slight clocking of the extractor. Picked up a Wilson BP stop cheap and it went in nicely but was enough wider that it seems to keep the extractor straight.

Original below Vs the Wilson.
