PROPER AMMUNITION STORAGE

I try to keep about 600-800 rounds on the shelf for each of the guns I currently have.
9mm 1 Gun
40 cal 1 Gun
45 ACP 2 guns
5.56 2 guns
300BO 1 Gun
.308 1 Gun
I keep around 4-6 mags loaded at all times for each gun. Round count in the mags is over and above the shelf count boxes.
Currently short on 300BO But I’m working on it. 😁😎😬

As far as storage is concerned my guns and ammunition are In a walk in closet in the bedroom. Door knob lock and double dead bolted. 2nd floor alarmed apartment.

Fort Keystone. 😂😂😂

Me too. Much less posting pictures. I did post a few, as TexasForLife was quite insistent ( I will be removing those photos at some point).

This is a gun forum??? o_O

I hate irresponsible people that irresponsibly blame others for irresponsible political agendas involving firearm use.

So, my bulk target ammo (brass-case 9mm, brass-case .308) ships in metal ammo cans, and I store it in said containers.

I have some ammo (defense loads, and some vintage .38) that is stored in retail cardboard boxes.

I prep (5) 50-round boxes (retail cardboard) every time I go to the range; sometimes I remember to pre-load them and they are stored full, sometimes I load them as I prep for the trip.

It all lives in my safe, as does my Hoppe's (plastic tamper-proof retail bottles), my lube (syringe-applicator bottle with a rubber cap on the tip), and my cleaning kit (original 1952 Colt cardboard revolver case, with my brushes, bore cleaners, rags, and tools in it).

The article recommends "don't store ammo with cleaners"...curious if I should consider rethinking my arrangement? I don't get any whiff of cleaner when I open the safe, just curious if the low concentration of cleaning vapor, plus container storage, would be OK...?

I don't like to talk about my ammo supply. I can say that I never have enough. :)

As a rule, I like to keep 1,000 rounds of Ball Ammo for every caliber firearm I own, Its storage is in the factory Ammo cans and factory packing. This ammo is used every 5 years and replenished with the exception of specialty ammo for defensive pistols I keep 100 rounds for each pistol in each caliber and it's fired once a year and replenished as its used. All my ammo has a storage safe separate from the firearms safe.

I'm not saying this is the case, but if I was a guy with guns and storing ammo, this is pretty much exactly how I would do it.
