Palmetto State Armory is working to begin domestic production of steel-cased Soviet calibers, set to help offset the Russian ammo ban with hopes to be fully operational by 2023.

I wish PSA the best and will be a loyal customer when they get up and running. I'm excited about steel-cased ammo providing American jobs. I'll only run it in my AK and SKS rifles, but its a good start. The recent shortage showed that we could use a little more domestic ammo production.

"I'm excited about steel-cased ammo providing American jobs." - Would be a great thing.

"The recent shortage showed that we could use a little more domestic ammo production." -Yes it did.

Good news for the AK owners out there!

At a bare minimum this should keep the current suppliers of domestic ammo competitive in pricing with a new major supplier on the block and also give more American citizens jobs.

I'm sure this will only be the beginning for PSA as they will most likely produce brass cased at some point in time.

Smart business move.

They’ve staked a part of their business on their US made AK line. Part of the attraction for those rifles was cheap steel case 7.62x39 from Eastern Europe.

PSA probably knows that if it’s hard to get cheap ammo for AKs, then many people won’t buy them. This gives them another revenue stream from ammo and a way to secure the AK business as well. 👍
