Purchased my first Emp 1911 9mm

Hey everyone,

I wanted to ask and see what everyone has been using for ammo for there Springfield emp 1911 3”

I currently use sig v-crown. But I’m curious what other ammo May be better for this particular pistol.

Hello @Kcollette11 and welcome to the forum,

Nice pistol. All my 9mm pistols mostly get a steady diet of Blazer Brass and S&B for practice ammo, 124 grain. For self defense I also like Sig V-Crown and Speer Gold Dot, also 124 grain. You'll want to try several brands to find out what works best and what doesn't. You want your self defense ammo to be absolutely reliable.

Thank you for your indulgence,

BassCliff

Love my EMP. I shoot Underwood ammo for edc. I get the extreme defense mono bullet from them. Feeds like fmj but works better than a hollow point. Yes I have tested them myself against all the best Hollow points.

This, plus my reloads 124 grain Berry’s plated. ALL have fed and worked well in my EMP

I use Federal HST Sig Sauer VCrown, and Speer Gold Dot 124 Grain JHP. Blazer Brass, Norma, and Freedom Munitions FMJ 124 grain for range and practice. I do have Speer Gold Dot G2 147 grain that I carry from time to time if up el norte of the Florida Border during the winter months.
