quandary or not? price wise, it may be the end

well on the facebook page, the public range i go to, jacked up thier membership prices a whole lot in my opinion.

they have 3 tiers of membership

1) $250...10 am till 4 PM...mon-fri

2) $350 for 10AM till 8 PM (closing) 7 days a week (12 guest passes)....(my current and past membership fee's)

3) $500 same as #2 and free rental (12 guest passes)

$25 per hour 1 lane range time

new pricings

1) $325..with 1 free birthday rental (same hours)

2) $475 (same hours, 6 guest passes)

3) $675 (same hours, guest passes, 12 free rentals *used to be unlimited*

75 yard indoor range, magnums, rifles allowed

$25 per hour, 1 lane range time

my club $250 a year, 50 foot indoor range, 24/7/365 open, no time limits, $10 for guests

no rentals, no ammo sales,

Best option for me being on SS for the public range..???

once a week at $25 for an hour....if i wanna even go there that often..

maybe go more often to the club.

i can honestly "see" maybe a $25 or $35 price hike...but $75 for my current membership?

i dunno........i feel when it's time to renew memberships, many of us will simply not pony up that much for even the lowest cost, but pay each time we go.

yeah, at the $325 price, all i gotta do is go like 13 times.....doable.....

but...mortgages, 1st and 2nd, house insurance, car insurance, house taxes, this spring....get where i'm going with this..??

my membership does not expire until March 31st. (spring time) ......so i got time to either come up with or forgedaboudit.

i was really gonna downgrade to the former $250 yearly fee's

i "may have" other options, like "real gun club", one is about an hour away however, but it is in/outdoor, 365 days a year....

i think under $200 for the year....

but after like 48 years of trucking, i don't even like to drive the 3/4's of a mile to my club....

when i first joined, i was there for almost 2 hours.(of the 1.5 hours allotted time). they do not kick you out, unless they are super busy, like on weekends. which i never go then.

even now i stay generally under 1 hour, which was why i wanted to downgrade to the (former) $250 price.

so to pay that $325.......well........i dunno, as i mentioned, spring time is "mothers day"...i gotta pay "this mother, that mother, another mother".....and now an extra $325..???

i'll "check around" for other clubs.....maybe before March 31st.
 
CORRECTION....!!

i made a mistake.....i "USED" to get 1.5 hours, for my (classic) $350 membership

i was just on facebook, and read the comments..
it is ONLY 1 HOUR now, for that $425 NEW fee...!!!

here is a comment from a member..
" But, to charge $475 for classic and to also take away 30 mins of range time as well as 6 guest passes is bordering on criminal."
 
I would look for other options.
My club at my tier level in $240 per year. Open 8:00am until dark 7 days a week. No time limit on visits. When I go, I usually stay 2-3 hours and nobody cares. But its also all outdoors. I won't be going much for the next few months. I'm old and get cold. :rolleyes:
 
For $45/yr I can spend as much time as I want at my range year-long, with everything from shotguns, pistols on the 50 yd. ranges, and rifles 100 out to 600.

I typically go during the work week while all the folks are at work, and spend a leisurely day with as many platforms as I take.
 
I am leaving my range membership after nearly 10 years. He has gone to this strictly visit only once a week thing.
I get it but I usually go on a weekday morning and there is rarely another person there.
There is a Wildlife Club I can join here for near the same price and go as much as I want.
