Question For The Experts

Springfield is having a local event near me.
I have a MOD-2 Grip Zone compact and was thinking about trading for a Hellcat with the gear up program.
Is there much of a difference between the two and would it be worth upgrading??

The Hellcat is much lighter and has a better form factor. I'd bring the XDS to the shop, in a bag unloaded of course, and do a direct comparison. My opinion is go with the Hellcat.

Hey there, no Expert here but I do have multiple Hellcats... I'd say a Hellcat is a clear upgrade and if you chip in some Bens and get a Pro, even better...

Ok, I’m just the opposite, the XDs Mod 2 fits my hand better then my Hellcat, just me, best to try one and see how it fits and if it’s comfortable for you

Have shot a friend's Mod 2. Nothing wrong with it but, like my Hellcat with Shield RMSc and the 15 round mags for my XL hands more. My friend shot my Hellcat and liked it but he's staying with his Mod 2. Just reaffirms that you should get the one that fits you and you shoot best, or, better yet, get the Hellcat and keep the Mod 2 if you can afford to!

I don't own a Hellcat, but I have handled one. I wasn't overly impressed. I do own a 4" Mod 2 .45 and I like it a lot.

I have shot them both, and they are on the small size for my XL glove hands. Although the MOD2 grip is very ergonomic, the Hellcat Pro offers a full-size grip and a slight reduction in carry weight. I would lean toward the latter.

I own an XDS and a Hellcat Pro
XDS has been relegated to back up / car / laptop bag gun. Hellcat is definitely an upgrade from the XDS line in terms of ergonomics, capacity, and optics readiness.

I've owned several XD pistols, have traded them all for other pistols and revolvers. The 1911 is the only pistol I trust with a grip safety. XD models have a short grip safety and without a good high grip they don't go bang. Under considerable stress and without the high grip one could be in a world of poop. I'm sure lots of folks are going to disagree, just my on personal feelings.

To me the increased mag capacity would tip the scales to the Hellcat.
