Hi,
Our babysitting gig got cancelled due to sickness. I couldn't mow the yard because of the rain today. Mrs. BassCliff was so bored that she agreed to go to the range with me today. It's been a year since her last visit. She had some issues but once she worked out her grip and sight picture, it went pretty good.
Her focus is defending herself in the house against an intruder. She practiced from five yards.
Her Kahr CW9 was giving her trouble today. Since she's a lefty her strong hand grip kept hitting the mag release button. She was able to adjust around that while she rediscovered her sight picture. Next time we visit she's going to try out a few other pistols since I get free rentals. I think she may like the Walther PDP F-Series since it can be configured for lefties, has a smaller grip, and is easier to rack than others. We bought the Kahr while living in CA while there were not a lot of choices for her smaller hands.
We split 150 rounds today (she shot more). After a little warm up I put two magazines (32 rounds) in this small silhouette from ten yards with my EDC.
Mrs. BassCliff must've had a blast today. I know this because on the drive home she said, "It didn't suck."
Actually, she did have a good time once she got some kinks worked out and I think she'll come back more often to practice. She knows it takes repetition to build muscle memory. I'm just thankful that I didn't get on her nerves today. We had fun.
Thank you for your indulgence,
BassCliff
