Has anyone installed the Radian Talon ambidextrous 45/90 degree safety selector on their Saint Victor AR 15? I'm getting ready to install one on mine. Any suggestions or hints before I start?

Do you have experience with AR lowers in terms of disassembly?

I'd recommend using the shorter selector lever on the palm side of the receiver so it doesn't dig into your index finger when the safety is off.

to make it easier on your self
1. Take the upper off
2. Remove the pistol grip, safety spring and detent (don’t loose them)
3. Lock the hammer back (important) moves the trigger out of the way so the safety can be removed.
4. Then make sure to install the safety with the detent on the proper side.
5. Slowly release the trigger (will hold the safety in place as you work)
6.With the lower upside down facing you, reinstall the detent (the pointy end should point to the safety flat end up) in the lower
7. Install the Spring into the pistol grip (use some grease to hold the spring in place to help you).
8. Install the pistol grip making sure the spring goes back into the detent hole. As you tighten the grip screw you can use a pick to move the spring into place.
9. Cock the hammer back again and move the safety back and forth to make sure it is clicky (might be rough the first time, but should smooth out as the detent aligns into place).
10. Reinstall the upper: Test the safety

  • With hammer cocked, move safety to safe and pull trigger (should not drop hammer)
  • With hammer cocked, move safety to fire and pull the trigger (Hammer should fall)
  • With hammer fired, try to move the safety to safe (should not move to safe)
  • Cock hammer again, safety can now move to safe.

Done! Thanks, I really appreciate the feed back and tips. I watched a video where one Saint owner complained that the Radian Talon ambi safety selector didn't work on his rifle and it bothered me a bit. It functions just fine. Thanks to both of you guys.

Pretty sure the Saint is Mil Spec.

I bet they installed it incorrectly, maybe backwards or the detent upside down, or forgot the spring.
