Range Day - New Shoulder Hardware

So after 5 months of no range time including 2.5 months of PT after shoulder replacement I made it to the indoor range for some quality time with my Emissary 45ACP and my Elite Compact 3.8 10mm I’m very happy to report no shoulder pain from recoil although I do have more work to do on strength in my left (support) arm and found I was a little shaky.
Starting with the Emissary.
I shot four (3) round groups.

1st group

Not the tightest but I love that 1911

2nd group

Getting better. 😊

3rd group

Hmmm like I said shaky.

4th group.

So overall not the tightest four groups
But very happy with the results after 5 months.

Now for my 10mm Elite. At first not very happy, I should mention that I was standing shooting the Emissary and shot my first group with the 10mm standing and I was all over the place and low. 😳

More then 3 shots as I was surprised I was so far off POA following this group I decided to sit and bench rest my arms.

2nd group.
46DAEFA6-6AA1-4AB9-BD28-83BE178FB921.jpeg

Better but I also decided to adjust my red dot and got better POI versus POA.

3rd group
005974AB-1BAD-4AA1-A3C7-FEB35E00E423.jpeg

Better but still low so I made another adjustment to the Red Dot and replaced the target.

4th round back to standing.

Better but not tight. 😵‍💫

I had 10mm rounds left over so shot more standing, no pictures.
Overall not great but not to bad, need to definitely start going to the range more often but I’m very happy with no shoulder pain.
Next will be my M1A at the outdoor range next weekend weather permitting.

The whole no pain thing is not understood by everyone. I do, having had both hips replaced after them beibg destroyed by arthritis for 10 years.

It feels almost like a miracle. Congratulations, enjoy your new freedom.

Glad you were able to shoot today and have it be pain free. Always good to return to our activities after surgery. Did really well for being off almost 1/2 a year.

Will you shoulder the M1A on the shoulder you had replaced?

I want to thank everyone for the positive feedback and comments they are very much appreciated. I had no expectations of going into this first range day in months however it felt good and I was pleasantly surprised to have no shoulder pain.
It definitely has me ready for more as I build my left arm strength.
