Hey all,
For this practice session I decided to use my "target" pistols and work out at 15 yards for the entire time. I went to the newer facility and found a new sign on the entrance to the lanes. Hmm, there must've been something goofy going on lately.
I was assigned lane #7, my favorite lane! I hitched up my target hanger and silhouette.
Even though the range wasn't too busy at this time I decided not to do any 10-10-10 drills and instead just practice marksmanship at 45 feet instead of my usual 30 feet using the Mark IV and the XDM Elite Precision.
I also taped on a B-8 center, a small USPSA silhouette, and a 4" circle to give me multiple targets. Then I sent it out to 15 yards.
After putting 20 rounds on three of the targets, it came back like this.
Wow. I started with the center bullseye on the main silhouette. What a mess. The other two were a little better with the B-8 center being the best. I guess I'm accustomed to shooting that target.
For my last 20 rounds I concentrated on head shots. It wasn't too terrible but I had a couple flyers outside the silhouette.
Then I moved on to the Mark IV, using a B-8 target with a 4" reactive circle in the middle. I'll patch up this one and shoot it five times, 20 rounds each. The first one was not too good but the others seemed to improve to various levels of mediocrity.
Thinking that was my last target of the day, I took a glam shot with the Mark IV.
But then I decided, no, I can do better than that. I haven't used my 12x18 reactive silhouette yet. Let's give it a try.
Well, that was pretty average. Let's try one more time. I patched it up and put 20 more rounds on it.
OK, a little better. At least they are more centered and about half of them are actually in or very near the bullseye. Now it's time to call it quits. I gotta go home and let my dog out. Then tomorrow I'm coming back for a bowling pin shoot. That outta be fun. Thanks for looking!
Thank you for your indulgence,
BassCliff
