Greetings friends and neighbors!
Mrs. BassCliff is out of town again so that means an extra day at the range! Yay me! I wasn't going to get crazy, just get over there to shoot 100 rounds and see if my dry fire laser practice from the night before helped me. Let's just say, because of my dry fire practice this week, I've been able to hold on to my level of mediocrity. I usually go during the week. This is the first time I've been to one of the Fletcher Arms ranges on a Saturday. It was busy when I arrived and I had to wait for a lane.
I didn't have to wait too long until I was assigned Lane #2, my favorite lane!
On both sides of me were shooters firing rifles. Wow! They made a lot of noise and shock waves. It was a bit of a distraction, you'll see it in the video. Like I said, it was busy and there were a couple of other distractions too.
Even though I didn't time it, I shot this first B-8 as if I were shooting a 10-10-10 drill. Not too good. At least everything was in the 7 ring. Meh.
Then I shot my second B-8 slow fire. You'll see targets #1 and #2 in the video along with the rifle "distractions". Target #2 had a much tighter group but I still let a couple get out in the 8 ring.
For grins and giggles, I'll insert the video of these first two targets right here.
Moving right along, I shot everything at 10 yards today with the exception of one target at 25 yards. Here's #3 with a ragged hole in the 10 ring but still four in the 8 ring. I need to do better.
Target #4 still has four in the 8 ring. I can't really tell which holes are double or triple hit. I guess that top hole in the 8 ring actually broke the line for the 9 ring, right?
OK, #5 is looking a little better with only one out of the black.
And on my last B-8 of the day I let two get out in the 8 ring. Drat.
Then I shot a few magazines from Mrs. BassCliff's CW9. I really don't like this gun. I have a trigger spring kit that I think I'll install. This is the first magazine of seven. I got a couple on the target.
The second target only had three off the reactive stick-on from this magazine of eight.
This magazine of 7 rounds had only one shot off the target, if you give me the graze on the edge (arrow).
For the last 8 round magazine through the CW9, only one off the reactive target. I do not enjoy practicing with this gun. I'm trying to talk Mrs. BassCliff into picking out another pistol. I'm happy to buy a new one for her.
Then I shot 50 rounds with the Walther P22. I think I may need to adjust the windage a bit more. It seems to be shooting right now, and sometimes high (but that's probably me).
Magazine #2 through the P22.
Magazine #3 through the P22. I don't know how that shot ran so high. Maybe I need to shoot closer than 10 yards so I can really check the sight alignment, sight picture, POA, and POI.
The next one is all over the place, but all on target.
For my last magazine through the P22, I let three shots get really high. Darn.
Then just for funzies, I sent a reactive silhouette out to 25 yards. I need to practice more at this distance.
It seems only eight shots made it on the target. This target is really small for these old eyes at 25 yards. But I've done better. I'm going to save this target for next time, patch it up, and try it again.
Then I visited the "pro shop" to see if "my" Garrison is still available. It was.
Maybe for my birthday. I guess that price is not too terrible. At least I can pick it up right now if I want to. I had to wipe off the glass when I was done. Excuse me. You know, Mrs. BassCliff is not coming back until Monday. I just might come back here tomorrow. Sure, you know me, you love me, you can hardly stand me. Thanks for putting up with me. Stay safe.
Thank you for your indulgence,
BassCliff
