Range Report: FletcherPW Practice, 4/19/23

BassCliff

Professional
My dear friends and patriots,

Yesterday was dinner/movie night for Mrs. BassCliff and I. Today I needed some "me" time. After doing my one chore for the day, filling the bird feeders, I high-tailed it over the the Lake Country facility of Fletcher Arms. It wasn't too busy today so I was able to procure Lane #8, my favorite lane!

I was planning a quick practice session with three of my semi-autos. Mrs. BassCliff kept hers at home today. I'll finish up that range pack of WWB (100 rounds) along with 50 rounds of LAX Ammo .45acp and 100 rounds of the Blazer .22lr.

When I can, I like to start with a cold 10-10-10 drill. I slowed down this time but it didn't really seem to help my score, only 88 points and NOT under par time with the three second penalty. Drat.

The rest of my session was slow fire, sometimes really slow. But it didn't seem to help target #2. Half the hits were out of the black.

With target #3 things are starting to shape up, only one hit out of the black. I shot everything at 10 yards today.

On target #4 the WWB bit me again. But this dud was the only malfunction today, no FTE or FTL. I put this cartridge back in the magazine and it fired the second time.

But it tossed me off my rhythm. (Yeah, right!) I let two hits get out of the black.

OK, I'm feeling good. I'm warmed up. I'm concentrating on the front sight. I'm pulling the trigger straight back. Well, look at that!

AJFCJaVpIITEThifjcE8K6o787YcopDs5kYRkVt-mG3DLFBPeyIDI1zfd0uTJl4ANFOm-8QbOKJljVcHqaPIFc0rcJWqGvF78zgCaBUbK6--zqrwhD-4my4Di4HpS_tz-PS3WEo4pXw07lEFS3ECUGQV46h_Hw=w1236-h927-s-no

I haven't had a target like this in quite a while. If you give me the line breaks I do believe there are nine hits in the 10 ring. Maybe I should frame this one?

I switched it up a little after that and stuck on some reactive circles. I did pretty good on this 3" circle, only two hits out.

AJFCJaUaem5wfxyT-o1kTjkL4yAiSIofDrPGxdvBk2tWHZvevKGFu4vFAv543vGl5Qntwm0O4fWPRjx6_K-MjKHxOqdba2BBr25jLBXAjf7WFB1rhAH9PxufKIvnJkHDvhsY8kgJtr-QJ6tBXGPxfzWXydBtsQ=w1236-h927-s-no

I shot at two other 3" circles but didn't do as well. I shot the 8" circle last and barely kept all the hits inside the target.

Then I decided to have a little fun with my P22.

I'm trying to improve my accuracy with this little pistol too. Again, with line breaks I think I got all 10 hits on this 3" circle.

AJFCJaXuaUMcDHPcTMYQxOjvgrNClx59jyyfQH8xEpH6f0qM-CrnKNJ2e7-xD5fxxAJA0hUawYQY0_EEiI66cnuD3l3Zh2TDGKLWR3WDtDrcdSUGzceYrtLG2Bl0iaJNz-4gf0q9SozE7BsbU09914J-Bajy2Q=w1236-h927-s-no

The other two 3" circles weren't so good. The top one had a couple of bad flyers.

AJFCJaWu3cWmcbWK1calxTseXEefnvCtR5mClRizqRIHUzWZ5CpWHmsrtJ0Ohm5M57cXD0L5Tl3I4BHZIEP7wqvU0niznasqKqJIQWs4yQ-60na1gVN58Xv6UaCEDYdbtD1EDJTo-pwz-KjAIKF2c2wav1xSsA=w1236-h927-s-no

Note: That question mark is from earlier while shooting my XD9. That was an odd flyer while the rest were grouped really well. I just have to shake my head sometimes.

Then I practiced the last 50 rounds with my Garrison. I send the IMZ silhouette downrange ten yards.

With my 10 round magazines, I put one on center mass and one on the head. Sort of.

Then I taped a B-8 center on the target and used my three 7 round magazines.

AJFCJaX37giOLn0yelJp49JvVI4Blcf3lhjU5CTxaWbYv8BOucbrrCaYWvCj-V1P_obuqnwNxWieoVuqwSc0U5zdebyRI5EQibF_w7DFLbxfP0qcvx0zUrlhVZWggAG2yDazDoTDyHvKydrVS_NC7g_HON5Veg=w1236-h927-s-no

I put up my last B-8 center for the day and used my last nine rounds of .45. I let one get really low-left. Drat. At least it's still on the paper.

AJFCJaV2WggeZBLaiJhK6z8q1HcsVhHFtlmbKGzlK0SQ0TmmTaQaSAE9tcDPSwu1hXmWiYeE2gcrYzsoLhxkww0wUOuy8QN5KIbwjetKjlCSWmx2_D4nX5jBnC2B_uHhZ8txgzhjMuEhBd3fLmFR2jH_yYE6Uw=w1236-h927-s-no

And now, before we say goodbye, it's time to meet the team here at the range. They are a good bunch of nice folks. Really.

AJFCJaX_2DtaVDq2mE19zHh6w7VnzON6NVCk0hHB5951VjnOFGDYtX1cKGzBnUjM9O6phlIAGqaYtHj6ZWcmeYKBAwU-lZZdSOP_ssU7PTCSwtJ-lW96UafVw9IVGSUrAe3bKbT5SnzSlKQ5n7CUUB59vHoU3w=w1236-h927-s-no

When I got home, Mrs. BassCliff was so proud of me she put my target on the refrigerator. She loves me.

AJFCJaU6lHR_7kNTKLFYyf1u1aa39A0fU4gTKdqI1r2IOWU4WEfC8FaeXl7XwmTQlUDXto9qP8HmGSDuHF8eNcyEtooEX-8LLQ7T3BOBQZd_zlLtbIxNoyuE7w80Xb0DXyqGP2QgTV1-cB-Hj4pI9oAUPy_k1w=w1236-h927-s-no

And now I've got a few guns to clean. I usually do it after every third range trip. I'm getting lazy in my old age. I was glad that I did not have any FTEs with the WWB today. I still have 800 more rounds to shoot. I know, I know, I told you I wouldn't mentioned my WWB issues any more. OK, from now on, no more griping about WWB. I'm just going to shoot it all and be done with it. :ROFLMAO:

OK guys, that's it. Thanks for hanging out and being cool. Until next week.

Thank you for your indulgence,

BassCliff
