Greetings fellow patriots,
I've been cooped up in the house for too long, cleaning, sorting, packing, getting ready to move, getting ready for our moving sale, etc. Yesterday I busted out with three of my pistols and headed to my local indoor range, Rancho Magnum Range. My small range bag was sporting my new USCCA patch. Whatta ya think? With that and a dollar forty-nine I can almost buy a cup of coffee.
I brought a 500 round box of LAX Ammunition factory reloads and some Aguila .22. I shot 100 rounds of 9mm and less than 100 rounds of .22 in all my fun.
You also see a little camera stand. I took video of a few of my strings but the angle is not great. Maybe I'll post'em up later if I have time to edit them into a cohesive presentation. This is how I shot for my entire session. I paid a dollar for one of their targets and just kept taping my own targets on top of it. I shot from ten yards all day except for my last magazine when I practiced a variation on the 2-2-2 drill. That was from seven yards.
This was my first B-8 target, untimed but shooting as fast as the range will allow, one second between shots. Drat, one of these days I'll practice away the flyers.
The second B-8. It's a little better but still with three in the 8 ring. I think that hit in the X ring at 5 o'clock is a double. There were no big flyers on this string.
My third, and best, B-8. They are all in the black, just barely.
I felt so good about #3 that I got a little cocky with #4 and let my concentration slip. Oops, two flyers in the 6 ring.
So for #5 I buckled down. What do you think of that shot at 12 o'clock? Did it break the 9 ring?
Awww, c'mon! Have another look. Are you gonna give it to me or what?
OK, here's #6. At first I though I did pretty dang good again. But wait, there are only nine holes in the paper. Another double hit perhaps?
Oh no! Then I noticed this flyer. Was that me? Did I miss that badly? Or did someone in the lane to my left miss really badly? (If you'd seen their target you might wonder.)
I don't know, it was probably me. I decided to take a break from the B-8 and shoot at some reactives with my .22 pistols.
Wow, I think I still need to adjust the windage on my P22. This is from 10 yards. Almost everything is left.
I gave the screw on the rear sight a half turn and tried again. It's a little better.
I gave the screw another half turn and replace the target to try again.
But before I could continue a cease-fire was called. There was no emergency, just a broken cable on one of the target carriers. I was getting bored. Here's a view back into the lobby from the firing lanes. Hey! What's that I see?
Well, looky there. The old noob is on television!
I'll be back right after a brief intermission. Thanks for looking!
Thank you for your indulgence,
BassCliff
