Hello!

I served on the worship team last weekend. Sunday after church the piano player and I got in some time at the range. We got my favorite lane, #1. Josh brought his Taurus 38 Special snubby and I brought these filthy pistols, XD9 Mod.3, VP9, XD45 Mod.2 Tactical. I promise to clean them this week.

Josh also brought his wife's Walther .380 but we didn't shoot it. I guess I could've picked up a box of ammo but I had plenty of 9mm and .45ACP to have fun with. Josh really liked shooting my pistols. Here he is with the XD45.

Josh did well with my XD9 Mod.3 with the optic. I'm starting to get used to it.

Here's Josh with his 38 Special snubby. It's really hard to hit something 10 yards away with a 2" barrel and a 14 pound trigger.

Well, it wasn't 14 pounds. But it was quite a bit heavier than any of my striker fired units. I put a few rounds downrange with it but did not like it at all. I stuck to my XD and VP units and had a pretty good day.

My friend has decided that he's going to get another pistol. He's also much more accurate with the longer barrels and lighter trigger. As we were leaving our pastor pulled up into the parking lot. He likes to go to the range after church too. Unfortunately the range closed an hour early for an employee holiday party. We made plans with the pastor to meet another Sunday to make a joyful "bang". ;)

Thank you for your indulgence,

Hi,

I had a KOA LB76. It was a great bass with a great neck.

I still have my ‘97 Carvin TL60 which has the best action of any guitar I’ve ever played.

I still get compliments about how pretty the koa wood is on this bass. (I need to clean it up a bit.) It's been a workhorse for me. I do my own setups and it's been rock solid. I've never heard anyone complain about their guitars either.

Carvin does great with its instruments. You know the guy, Kiesel, who made their instruments, split from Carvin and is making instruments under his own name. I have a Kiesel PB5 (Precision clone) that is really excellent. It's passive with flat wounds for that vintage sound.

I do my own set ups as well as working on a lot of other peoples stuff. My TL60 has only once needed a TR adjustment since ‘97. 😳

Adjusting the 4001 was scary the first time ( which is what prompted me to learn how to work on them) but I kinda wish all guitars/ basses worked like that now.

My buddy has a new Kiesel. He likes it.
