Ranger .410 double barrel shotgun

FMJ

Operator
It's in real good shape, not all dinged up or rusty. Need triggers and springs and other parts. Anyone know anything about these shot guns, who made them or who sold them? It's a cute lil thing.

There should be a Sears catalog number stamped on the gun. With that you can find out exactly what make and model it is. There's a crossover reference in the back of the Blue Book of Gun Values.
If you don't have a book, post the number here and I or someone else can look it up for you.

Ty Grayfox. Only number i can find is X66367 on forearm metal and same number stamped in the wood on forearm, bottom of barrel and receiver. There are no numbers after the RANGER logo. Has PAT. APRIL 20 1915 under the ranger logo and 410 gauge on top of barrel. Has a number 12 in a circle on the under side where barrel meets the receiver.

These links have some info about the patent date-

Sears catalog numbers are usually 3 digits, a period followed by 4 or 5 digits. XXX.XXXX
Sometimes they show a separate Model number. These numbers are usually found on the receiver or at the base of the barrel.
Under the Ranger name I'm finding some with 3 digits, period and 1 or 2 numbers. XXX.X Some are simply Model Numbers.
I'm afraid I'm not finding anything like the number you provided. I'm thinking that is likely a serial number. Can you post some pictures? That would help.

Patent stamp means it’s a Stevens. .410 production started in 1925 and by 1929 they stopped using the name Stevens and started using Springfield. Stevens records were destroyed in a fire so no serial number data base. So it’s a Stevens 311 made between 1925 and 1929.
