Rear sight adjustment on Garrison 1911

The Garrison and probably some other Springfield 1911's have an Allen head nut on top of the rear sight. I loosened the nut, but was not able to adjust the sight for windage. Any ideas on adjusting the rear sight?

You either need a rear site drift tool or a small brass hammer and brass punch.

If the sight is properly centered…

The problem isn’t the sight, it’s the shooter.

Annihilator is right, 1911 ‘fixed’ rear sights are most often done with a sight pusher tool (kind of a vise-like gadget). You can even find them on Amazon.
But first thing - since you didn’t mention it - is see what your Owners Manual says about it…
