Red Dot Experts Opinion Requested

When the Hellcat was initially introduced I picked one up which was OSP configured. The Red Dot purchased was the RMSc and was easily installed. Here is my issue: I lost total vision in my right eye in the mid 1970's. In place of my right eye is a finely crafted prosthetic which was manufactured at American Optical in Massachusetts. I was under the understanding that with the use of a Red Dot should be used with both eyes open. Keeping that in mind my brother and I went to the range and in using the Red Dot I couldn't hit the broad side of a barn. Actually it was a 10" X 12"piece of paper and at 25 feet and not a Single round out of 13 didn't hit the paper. Shooting other micro-compacts I consistently hit the 9 and 10 rings at the same distance using Iron sights. I purchased the red dot sight so that under pressure(threats of violence) I would be able to disable my target. I gave the pistol to my brother, who is sighted in both eyes, and he had no trouble with accuracy. I have spoken to several people regarding my one-eyed issue but I have not received any logical or illogical for that matter, reason for my poor shooting with any Red dot. Just in case there are any questions of my capabilities I am a qualified expert.
Can anyone please help me solve this problem?? Thank you

In this case you need to sight it in for you. How you perceive it in your case is a little different. You need to look at it as if you are behind a scope. Dot and eye in a straight line down the barrel other than center of body hold with both eyes open style. If you look down the thin edge of a ruler with front and rear of it seeing top edge without sides of view. Keep holding the ruler in the same manner then move your head a little left or right the sides become more visible. If your brother sighted it in by both eyes open center hold is the issue.

Thank you very much for your input. I sighted the red dot as if it was directly in line with my front and rear sights. When my brother shot the pistol using the red dot he did so with no adjustments. That's what befuddled me. I used the dot as if it was straight in line with the iron sights. Here's the kicker.... When using a scope on a rifle I have absolutely no issues. At 100 yards I am on a Bullseye 8 out of 10 times. When I return to Maine where I can legally fire the pistol with more than 10 rounds I will try using your ruler method. I currently live in CT but will soon be retiring in Northern Maine where I already have a home built and enough acreage to target shoot on my own property. In CT I am CCW permitted and carry a 4" 1911 Springfield Range Officer Elite Champion which I absolutely love. Thanks again and GOD BLESS You.

I don’t blame you. Connecticut the

“Tax you to death” state.
Well..... CT's Democratic Governor is running for office AGAIN! He claims he dug us out of the deficit and we are now running on a surplus. This is how big of an idiot he is. He said that if he is re-elected he will lower the sales tax, property tax, etc.... Why doesn't the ANAL CAVITY do it NOW??? !!!!!!!

I heard that surplus storyline so many times it got to be politics as usual. But that is as usual anyway.
I remember one surplus speech that turned into a deficit 6 months later with no explanation of where the money went. 🤬🤬🤬

Connecticut has one of the highest gas tax in the nation so roads can be repaired, meanwhile bridges are collapsing and roads are crumbling.

I agree with all you have said. If I continue talking Politics it will do two things: 1. Drive me even more insane about politics than I already am and 2. Take me away from special ammo pricing and partaking in the Pro2A movement. That's another subject that shows Politicians Total Ignorance!!!
