Red dot/irons question

Have a question that may seem stupid, but I can't get it through my thick head. I have a tendency to shoot left with a particular handgun. A little while back, I adjusted my red dot and it got better. But, I've also worked on my form and grip since then. Just looking through my gun the other day, I've noticed that my red dot lines up slightly to the right of my iron sights. Question is, assuming the irons are on, will the RD being right of the irons cause my shots to be left or right of POA?

If you're right handed you may be using too little trigger finger according to a chart I can't post here (wrong format.)
I'd bench rest it and shoot some groups at an easy distance. If possible, try some with the irons too.
If the irons are on, and the dot is to the right, that would cause you to hit to the left.
