Red dot sight for XD9 OSP SLIDE

I would assume it depends on what plates are available. However, I buy holosun (Chinese comments coming). For a pure value perspective they can’t be beat. Add that to durability of holosun (check sage dynamics out) and the 50k battery life. Well it’s easy to see why they are so popular. Big fan of the new EPS it’s enclosed and makes cleaning so easy although that is a bit more
Expensive. But I have a 407c on my xdm9 that has given me 0 issues. The 407c can be found down at 199.

I prefer Holosun too. As far as the Chi-com thing, they are designed and tested in the US. And in my experience they are bombproof. I personally know a few people who have had issues with their Eotechs. One of them is an ex operator who told me if he was deploying again he would take a Holosun over an Eotech. And he showed me the "Bouncing reticle" on the Eotech on his PDW.

I haven't tried any of their RDMS, but I have more than a couple 510s and 512s on shotguns and ARs.

Yeah I think most people have seen enough reviews on them, to see the value on the optic. I know holosun is all I will buy when it comes to red dots. I’m sure there are other good ones but odds are they will cost the same or more, not have the same battery life, and not be as durable.

Admittedly, I had too much crap on my work bench the other day when cleaning guns. I had 6 to clean. All were empty and no loaded mags by my work bench. But been doing lots of spring chores (tie the season) so work bench a cluster.

Anyways ended up knocking the xdm off the bench and it landed on the concrete right on the holosun. Barely a scratch on it. No issues and I was able to shoot it and it held 0.

In a strange coincidence, at the range today an old man named Larry was there and he had a 510c that he had bought to put on a pistol. When he figured out it wasn't going to work out he tossed it in his range bag and forgot about it. He sold it to me today for $150. It's got a few scuffs on the housing but works perfectly.

Great info. Looking into getting the OSP slide for the XD9mm - in addition to the slide, would I need to purchase the Holosun plate to work with the new EPS?

Looks like the xd slide assembly comes with an optic plate. According to this armory life article it seems to be the SMSc also known as RMSc footprint. https://www.thearmorylife.com/xd-osp-slide-conversion-kits-review/

The holosun EPS uses the 507k footprint, which isn’t an exact match with the RMSc footprint which uses taller recoil
Lugs. They can be modified but that’s up to you.

I would talk to Springfield to see if they have other plate options. Or if the xdm osp optic plates work on the xd cut.

they sell an xdm optic plate for the trijicon/ holsun rmr footprint. That would allow you to use the holosun 507c or other rmr footprint red dots.
