Personal preference I think but I've tried both and love green... ended up switching out all my reds for green. Just works better for my older eyes.

The human eye is supposed to perceive green better than red. I never understood why traffic signals were not reversed if that's the case since no one pays attention to red lights...

Have stuck with red since green blends in with the green veg too much for me.

Green is slightly more visible in sun light. When I say slightly I mean that. Neither is visible beyond about 15 yards in the sun.

Green works better for me day or night on one of my 9mm's. Much better than the built-in red that came on a 380 I own which I rarely turn on except for a mag or two at the range. Also have good tritium night sights on all my pistols, and carry a small tactical flashlight. I do turn on the grip activated green laser/light when carrying that pistol at night but it took some practice to avoid activating it before acquiring the target and ready to shoot as I search with the flashlight as learned in trainings. Left my irons on the Hellcat alone as I am fine with the front tritium dot and the Shield RMSc I added. Professional training and practice highly recommended if using a laser as it can make you an easy target. Just my opinion, do what works best for your safety.
