Reduced weight Recoil Spring for XD 4" Service

My Mom has the XD9 Tactical 5" with a 13lb recoil spring. I recently purchased the Springfield precut optic slide conversion kit. The recoil spring that came with the kit is 18lb captured recoil spring. I have looked all over, even the same site where I purchased the 13lb uncaptured spring for the Tactical. Where can I find a 13lb captured recoil spring for the 4" slide?

Spring Precision, Wolff and Brownells would be where I’d start looking. You sure you want to put a 13lb spring on a gun rated for 17lbs? Seems to me you could be risking damage to the gun if you’re using factory ammo in it.🤷‍♂️

I was thinking the same, lots of battering, though it’s polymer, but still a lot of beating the gun up

She could probably do a 14lb spring. Yes, she has issues with racking the factory spring. The gun she has now is the 5" Tactile. The Springfield Armory pre cut optic slide conversion kit (slide, barrel, and spring) converts it from 5" to a 4".

If you haven't already, I would consider reaching out to Springfield Armory Customer Service directly and see if they can help you with the right parts, if they can't provide it they may be able to point you to a third-party vendor that offers what you need.

Wolff gun springs only has factory standard and extra power springs. Have to get a new guide rod to run them on as the factory 4” service is captured.

I tried the Wolff solid guide rod with full power spring and had problems not going back into battery so I’m pretty sure a reduced power spring will cause nothing but hassles.
