As someone who has served this country and who is pro 2A, I am also for responsible gun ownership. Knowing one of the persons who was killed in this incident and seeing the blowback this brought on the shooter’s family is eye opening.

These morons shouldn't get off so easy, especially when they know the person WANTS to do STUPID things with a firearm! Are the morons going after the firearm manufacturer now? STILL not the manufacturer's fault! BLAME the retards that give the ok on the purchases!

Okay I want to start that I feel for those killed at the highland park shooting and their families. It’s horrible what they suffered. My prays are with them still.

In the article though it mentioned the father, signed and helped the son (the shooter) at 19 obtain a AR-15 due to his age. However, it also mention the shooting didn’t happen until after the shooter was over 21.

I am assuming at 21 the shooter could of obtained the gun ownership permit on their own assuming a clean background check. But no expert on NY gun laws. Nor did it mention how much longer after 21 did it occur.

I do not agree at all with the father and he should not of helped the kid get a gun based on the actions displayed by the son from the article (the threats). But I’m not so sure on the punishment either. Solely because it seems like the shooter at 21 could of still obtained the rifle legally and completed this monstrous crime. Had the shooter been under 21 then I would have a much different thought.

I do know this and other situations are highly charged and I hope my post didn’t bring anyone pain. But I was trying to remove myself from my emotions when writing this and working through the facts provided solely in the article.

Screw that guy. He knew the kid had homicidal ideations and enabled him anyway. Almost every mass killer gave indications and it was missed or not taken seriously by those who see it. Here the dad went further and empowered the killer. Although I think civil proceedings would have been more appropriate than criminal charges.
