The R/O Compact is at the top of my list for concealed-carry 1911's. I have two traditional 1911's, but they are more or less just range toys. I'm not a fan of blacked-out sights on a carry gun, and the ROC's front fiber-optic is a much better option for me. I could easily see myself picking up a Range Officer Compact if I happen to find it at a good price when finances allow.

I had been eyeballing these for a while and finally got one several years ago. It has been my constant companion ever since. **but contrary to the article, mine came with 2 x 6 round mags.

I really like my full size RO in fact I’m carrying it now that the holster I had made is finally relaxed enough for a good draw. It does need better sights. At least the front first.

Gloves, masks and a respectable distance at the range would have prevented that but now it’s to late, the only cure is a barbecue with all the forum members.
