Review: Super Vel .38 Special +P Ammunition

Very cool info.

So, a question - would any of you run +P loads through a 1952 Colt 4" O.P. revolver? It is in excellent condition...but has MASSIVE sentimental value to me, and I'd be heartbroken if I damaged it. It is an heirloom piece, but I also keep it as a backup home defense piece...

Personally, I wouldn’t, I don’t use +P’s in any of my guns, but that’s just me, this looks like a potent self defense round though. You Colt sounds sweet, I don’t think I would take a chance with it.

I wouldn't put any +P loads through your revolver. Sentimental pieces such as yours should be shot once in a while with standard pressure loads and taken well care of. JMHO!

Yeah, that's my thought. I give 'er some exercise once in a while and always draw a crowd at the range - good bluing, gorgeous hand-carved ivory grips from Korea - but mostly keep 'er in the safe, loaded with some Critical Duty just in case.

I've thought about a display case, just not sure about the security of things like that in case someone lets themselves into my house while I'm not home. TVs, computers, stuff like that can be replaced. The old Colt? No way.
